Rope On Kinabalu
Kinabalu was the first ‘high’ altitude mountain I summited. It starts with dense jungles and after breaking through he canopy you are met with this rugged, rocky terrain. Steep and slippery in parts, a rope is laid down to help both the ascents and descents. It remains a non-technical climb and at a modest 4,095m for me, it was a great step up from any ascent before. The scenes of sunrise and sense of adventure are unparalleled for those who have never experienced such things before.
