Mist on Preikestolen
In the lesser known Norweigian city of Stavanger, journeying across the fjords in a car carrying ferry and then a multi hour hike culminates in the view from Preikestolen. Known as Pulpit Rock in English, in the summer this place is rammed full of visitors, so much so you are queueing to get to the scenes. The winter, however is another story, deep snow and early darkness results in many being put off. If that didn't numerous blogs and reports online does. However, with our hiking experience and reasonable fitness levels, we donned our crampons and went for it. We were rewarded with relative solitude and fantastic views of the mist over the fjords.
